"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."- U.S. Army General George S. Patton & 1912 Olympian

Marlena 3.55 Honor Roll Awards

Marlena loves middle school & has adjusted perfectly. She's got lots of friends and really loves her leadership class (which is how she starts every day) and student council. She was relieved to be done with cross country & her math teacher has asked me if Marlena would like to join the basketball team. The coach could use a gal Marlena's size on the team. LOL, Marlena gave me the ugliest look & said "NOOOO". She received her first report card on Friday and we are so proud of her for making 3.55 honor roll!! she's such a smarty pants!!

First Snow

We received our first snowfall on October 21st, 2008. My M&M's were so excited & then so bummed when it was all melted by the time they stepped off the bus. That night we had to change all the sheets to our flannel ones & Maximus wanted to send Daddy flannel sheets. LOL, I exlained that it's over 110 degrees in Iraq & that daddy is plenty toasty already!!

Introducing Tenderfoot, Eagle Eye & Storm Cloud

Grandma Guerra made the kiddo's Native American Halloween Costumes. I took the children out to Garden of the Gods for their own photo shoot!! Long before man traveled here, the Ute, Cheyenne and many other natives considered this area sacred. Over the next couple of weeks the kiddo's & I will be studing about the Native Americans that first lived here in the Springs.

"Tenderfoot"
"Eagle Eye"
"Storm Cloud"
Thank you Grandma for loving us so much & making these amazing costumes!!

Happy Halloween from Colorado!!

For those of you that didn't know already Maximus is obsessed with Halloween, it's his favorite holiday. He loves it more than Christmas. I know CRAZY, right?? What kid likes Halloween more than getting presents...... "MAXIMUS" that's who!!!

Maximus was so so excited about the light up web & big the ole spiders in it. As a side note last week I went into the garage in my bare feet & saw a shadow of something in the dark & I turned on the light to find a HUGE trantula on the ground in front of me. I of course grabbed a shoe to KILL it but I was too slow & it scurried under our freezer. YUCK!!!!!

Bear Creek Dog Park

Mia was so excited to run around & not get yelled at to come back. Well, at least she wasn't being yelled at by me. Maci was freaking out yelling for Mia & jumping up & down. She thought Mia was running away!! "Mia Come Back"

Maci followed Mia all over the dog park!!!

Maximus was far more interested in exploring & playing in the trees with his new skeleton!

Mia saw friends Bandit wives: Evye Capaz & Sheri Gross & their Boston Terriers!
