"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."- U.S. Army General George S. Patton & 1912 Olympian

Every day is a VACATION!!

WOO HOO!! Today marks 1 week in our new home at West Point. It started to snow this morning around 6am. Everything has been transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland! We are still unpacking & trying to get settled. There's nothing better than sleeping in your own bed & making a house feel like a home. A home where you can trully relax & take a deep breath. It is this feeling that brought me to a state of personal reflection. I am very thankful to have 3 gorgeous children, a loving husband & very supportative parents & siblings! I love you all.
This morning I have been busy loading my library cabinets with photo albums & photo books. I couldn't help but stop & look at the 1000's of photos we have over the last 13 years. I realized we live as if we are on vacation everyday! What a wonderful way to live. I treasure every minute our family has shared together and the collection of memories we have built. I love looking back over the many milestones the children have made, every adventure we have had together, and all the special people in our lives!! I would like to think of life as an extended vacation!

Happy 34th Birthday Scott!!!

The best part about a birthday is celebrating the birth of that special person in your life! I couldn't imagine my life without Scott and all the fun we have together as a family. A family I wouldn't have if not for him. Our life is full of adventure & sometimes a wild rollercoaster ride, but at the end of each adventure I never want to change a minute!!
Monday January 18th my man turned the big ole 34 and thanks to MLK Scott was off from work & the kids were home from school. We decided to make it a day full of adventure. Starting with breakfast in our lil hotel room full of fun & chaos!!
Marlena made Scott breakfast in bed!! Once he eat his delightful eggs with jelly toast he opened his cards to discover he had to follow the scavenger hunt clues to find his birthday present of new comfy slippers!! The kids helped with the clues & found the whole event hysterically funny!

By 10am we were out the hotel doors & off to OCC 10 miles down the road! That's right Orange County Choppers. Very cool!! Scott was excited & we were both pumped to watch Paul Sr busy at work on a bike! The show room was incredible, complete with a sound stage!!!

The POW MIA motorcycle, the barbed wire wheels were pretty cool (even through there was a 1st cav patch on it.)

Paul Sr working!!

This motorcycle is right up Scott's alley!! Combination smoker/motorcycle!

For lunch we headed 1 hr & 20min to Fairfield Connecticut to the "Super Duper Weenie". On a side note Scott loves the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives with Guy Fieri" (for Christmas I gave him 2 of Guy's books filled with recipes & "DDD" stops across the nation). The Super Duper Weenie was featured in Guy's second book & we had watched the show when they were making these amazing hot dogs & so we just had to drive & check out this dive!!!
