"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."- U.S. Army General George S. Patton & 1912 Olympian

Painting Eggs

When we read our easter books, the characters are always painting eggs, not dyeing them. So, this year we decided to paint our eggs. The kids are hooked & never want to go back to the yucky dye that STAINS everything!! We had lots of fun & Marlena did an amazing job!!

Easter Wall Crawl

The Ft Carson Outdoor Recreation Department put together an Easter climb. Marlena had something going on at school, but I took Maximus & Maci. Maci is too young, but Maximus had a blast! He firsst scored a bog of candy from the climbing wall then went over to the challenge course climb. Here's my climber....

I tried to convince him to climb the rope, but no dice. Maybe next time!!

Maximus Crossing the Monkey Bars at the Park

WARNING: You may want to turn down your volume, I'm that crazy annoying mom in the background cheering him on. He went back & forth crossing 5 times!! He was so proud!

The kids & I were supper lucky to receive 12 free tickets ($10 each) to the Junie B Jones Imagination Celebration Performance at the Pikes Peak Center Downtown. There were all kinds of fun crafts to do, but the favorite were the spectacles!! I gave away 5 tickets & then I took my 3 children & 3 extras to the performance. LOL, there were a few people that asked if all 6 kids were mine.
HA HA HA!!!

Maci is not pictured because she was taking a picture with her imaginery camera.
Julia was picking Humpety Dumpety's nose & Maximus thought that was hysterical!!

BFF's Maximus & Julia!!

The show was so funny & we laughed so hard. Not hard enough to pee our pants except for Maci who went pee pee on me when we went from the warm inside to 30 degree weather to the car. UGH... it was so cold out & then she was asleep & crying!! Can't blame her she was pissed!! HA HA HA!!

Marlena's Birthday Slumber Party

Out for dinner at Musashi's Japanese Restaurant
(left to right: Sierra (moving to Hawaii next month), Lucy (moving in 7 wks to Minnesota-her dad will be the head of the ROTC program at Michigan State), Alex, Marlena & Alissa (moving to Korea in 7 wks)!!

Birthday Candle/ Volcano made from stacking onions!

The girls wanted a picture with the Samurai for Mrs. Hellman, they just finished the unit on Japan in Social Studies class & the girls had to read the "Samurai's Tale".
Marlena asked for a guitar shaped cake, we found the idea in last months issue of Family Fun magazine & I think it turned out pretty good, if I say so myself. After all it was my first attempt. Besides, Marlena told me I was the coolest mom ever!!

This was the first round of henna art I did on the girls, they each left earlier today with at least 4 or 5 designs. They loved it!!
Playing the game "Herd your Horses".

At 3am I checked on the girls & everyone was asleep!! I crashed out around 11:30pm.

Marlena's 12 yrs old!! WOO HOO!!!

Marlena woke us up at 6:45am on her birthday to let us know it was her b-day & that it was time to get up & open presents. Mind you we had just returned from Texas the night before at 8:30pm after a 15 hr drive!! But it's not about me & that it was spring break & all. March 26th is ALL about Marlena (oh & also cousin Ethan- Happy First Birthday Ethan)!!
